Safety Check List

Never use a child car seat if you do not know its history. It may have been damaged and may not protect your child in a crash
Always use appropriate child restraints and adjust harnesses for every child,every trip
When tightening the harness, always check the fit - you should be able to slide a finger between the harness and your child's chest
Regularly check the fit of your child car seat and replace seats or harnesses showing wear and tear
Never modify the seat, its fittings, the harness or buckle; it may not protect your child in the event of a crash
Ensure that you have removed all the slack from the adult seat belt
No child car seat is child-proof. Encourage your child to remain within the harness and not to play with the buckle
Your baby should not stay in an infant carrier for periods exceeding 2 hours at a time
The driver has legal responsibility for the restraint of children in cars
